Angry Birds is a puzzle video game developed by Rovio Entertainment and published by Chillingo on a truly wide variety of gaming platforms. Originally developed for touch-friendly mobile devices in 2009 and 2010, it arrived on Windows PC in the summer of 2011, becoming one of the most popular casual puzzle video games of the decade.

By smartly mixing eye-catching and fun design of stylized wingless birds that require the help of sling to fly, and the addictive gameplay elements of destroying various structures on the way of achieving the level’s goal, Angry Birds very quickly became a poster child of the successful F2P business model.

It attracted dozens of millions of players and greatly influenced the game development industry by inspiring competition to create many similar mainstream-focused puzzle titles.



The story of the Angry Birds for Windows is centered on the struggle of birds to save their stolen eggs from the villainous pigs. Determined to do anything in their power to stop the pigs, these fat wingless birds have decided to become kamikaze warriors who will slam into the forts and structures of their enemies. These fun physics-powered effects of destruction serve two purposes – to destroy pigs and rescue captured eggs.

Each level in this easy-to-learn game is centered on a fun environmental challenge (often presented in a form of a uniquely designed enemy fort and natural obstacles such as mountains), and the availability of a limited number of kamikaze birds. As the game goes on, several advanced forms of kamikaze birds become available, thus greatly changing the tactical approach needed to solve more complicated levels.

The PC version of Angry Birds is perfectly optimized for this platform. Instead of controlling the flight of the birds by finger control, the sling can be operated simply with the mouse. However, users of touch-enabled laptops and tablets can still use their fingers, thus replicating the effortless experience of controlling this game on smartphones and mobile tablets.
